SSEEO always strives to improve the quality of life for current and future stroke survivors by
building a community that encourages, supports and guides stroke survivors and their families through their stroke journey. We believe it is essential for survivors and caregivers to play a key role.
Build the SSEEO network of stroke survivors and other stakeholders by providing coordinated support, outreach and education.
Develop stroke survivors and caregivers for volunteer leadership roles through training, workshops and survivor-led mentoring.
Create accessible resources for survivors and their caregivers through a dedicated website, discharge materials, toll-free conferences and newsletters.
Evaluate the need for other programs and services for caregivers, persons with disabilities and look into new avenues to connect with patients after discharge.
Maintain an active presence on policy issues related to stroke in Illinois by reaching out to EMS, local stroke support groups and healthcare professions.
