Two years ago I suffered an AAA (big medical term for a very expensive surgery) Aortic Anuyrism. I drove myself to the ER room and walked myself in and life began once again. It has taken me 2 years to get back to the club full time. Im scared to death, but I know that God did not do this to me just to torture me. This is his plan to motivate me me mindfully. To live mindfully. Take time to feel our surrondings. In the beginning I had nothing but time. I am at the club and I remember my brother getting me in the gravity pool and I would walker myself into the pool. He said this is where you will learn and not fear of falling. Which was so amazing because after my double stroke you need reinforcement by doing. Well today I walk 1 mile on 3.5, not the fastest speed but again I do it mindfully. We got to push ourselves its easy to fall into depression but the power you get when you push through is an amazing uphoria. I would like to know your thoughts??

Frankie I was afraid to go back to the health club too after my stroke. I use to run and weight lift. I went back (with my mother) a few months out of the hospital, just to walk and walk and walk. Now 5 years post stroke I am back to running and weight lifting. I even became a Personal Trainer! Now all I have to do is find a job and I'll almost feel like normal again  Huh

Hey Cari!

I was going to ask you if you passed your Personal Training exam, you must have.  CONGRATULATIONS!!  Grin

Now, I just have to get myself back to the health club, too.  Too bad you don't live in Lombard, I'd hire you to be my personal trainer!!

I'm sure you'll find a job soon!
